Samuel Adams
Samuel Adams was born in September 27
1722, in Boston in the British colony of Massachusetts. When he finished his
studies he was unsure of what to be in life, he considered being a lawyer but
instead he decided to the business branch. Samuel Adams become popular after
the victory of the british on the Seven years War. At first it came the Stamp
Act on 1774, colonists were not represented in parliament he argue with the
people. They could not be taxed by that body.
After the Sugar Act it came the Stamp
Act, where it required the colonists to pay taxes on most printed materials. In
Boston , a group called the Loyal Nine began a protest with the Stamp Act.
There was celebration throughout the city, and Adams made a public statement of
thanks to British merchants for helping their cause.
Another big event Samuel Adams was
involved in was the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773. It consisted in
political protest by the Sons Of
Liberty. A group of colonists that were on a mohawks costume boarded the
ships on the harbor and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor.
Samuel Adams name its recognized all around the world. One example of it was
The Boston Beer Company, however they have been some foundations in honor of
Samuel Adams.
