Effects of the American Revolution

The American Revolution had many repercussions that proceeded it. It affected many people locally and on a global scale. The Patriot victory meant that the tables would turn for the current situation in America and things were beginning to change for everyone. Patriots, loyalists, native americans and slaves' lives were all affected by this event. Some of these groups were benefited while others took an unfortunate path. The American revolution was also a great inspiration to come for other revolutions around the world.

For instance women, the "Republican Mothers", as they were called, gained respect among the people but weren't benefited in any way. Women were not privileged and depended greatly on men. Loyalists were almost forced to abandon their homes and most of them moved to Canada while others stayed in America living in fear. Slaves remained slaves and Patriots were mocked as hypocrites for not defending their ideology to the fullest to treat every man as equal. Native Americans were affected in a negative way the most since all their land was taken away from them and they were forced to relocate in exchange for peace. Patriots were extremely benefited gaining vast amounts of land and the right to rule their country the way they wanted.

Apart from affecting people locally, the American Revolution also inspired other revolutions to take place around the world. For example, the French Revolution came about after fallowing the example of the liberty-seeking Americans. The American Revolution made people believe in the ideology that everyone was created equal and had the right to pursue their own happiness. Other revolutions like the ones in America in the 19th century and in Africa and Asia during the 20th century were also influenced by the Americans. In conclusion, the American revolution affected many people in many ways.
